A month ago today my brother’s life changed forever. Because he is so admired, so respected and so loved, in some ways, we all changed too.
Have you ever heard of the butterfly effect? How one moment in time can alter the course of events and set in motion chain reactions that have wide spread effects on the future? My remarkable brother in some ways remains the same smart, strong, determined, purposeful man that he was before his accident. But every day he is facing new challenges that are testing his will, his spirit and his faith. Yet he goes on, and relentless in his journey, he adapts, he surpasses, he perseveres.
So what about all of you? In the last month have you listened a little deeper? Spoke with a little more tenderness? Been a little more accepting, a little more open-minded, more patient, more courageous, more forgiving? Did you stop to celebrate the grace and the gift of this day?
Keep fighting Chris because as you push yourself, as you wage battle in PT and OT, you push all of us in some way too. Sleep well tonight. Love you.
