Saturday, March 12

Chris is still on his daily diet of ice chips and chewing gum.  He is more alert and rested well throughout the day but the nasogastric tube is still in place. His colon is being stubbornly sluggish. Damn you colon!  The sooner he gets the tube out, the sooner he can get back on solids, the sooner he can get his Balboa butt to rehab. The Doc will decide tomorrow morning.

A visit from son Christopher lifted his spirits today! Also, a wonderful gift from Jamie Capezio, Brandi Datillo, Chad Brown, Kathy Stapph, Laurel teachers and members of the Laurel community-- the gift of two ipads for Chris and his sons. The family is so excited and blessed by all of your generosity. There is nothing that Chris loves more in this world then his boys and now he will be able to see their beautiful mugs and hear them whenever they want. Thank you, all of you (and thank you Steve Jobs!)

Chris said he didn't know what he would have done without me over the last week. I told him I didn't know what I would have done without him. Thanks to God, he is here, and we will never have to know.

Tomorrow: NG tube update.
