Tuesday 3/29, Day 8

Day Eight. Rehab, Mercy:  Chrissy, got busy.

I talked to Jen this evening and I was so moved to hear the hope and elation in her voice as she recounted my brother's bionic day.

The Doctor's are very impressed by the speed of his progress and Chris is quickly moving ahead of the normal recovery time-line.  Okay, does this surprise anybody????

Today Chris practiced car transfers. He also had a curb training session as not all curbs are handicap friendly. So, Chris staying true to his character,  (wait for it....wait for it)  was popping wheelies in his chair, and the curbs, well, they didn't have a chance against this road warrior.

Chris spent some time playing catch today with sister-in-law Amber as he continues to work on regaining and mastering his balance. Saturday, it was a balloon. Today, a ball. Do you see where I am going with this people?

I am teary and thankful tonight that I have a brother with so much character, conviction, courage, determination, and GRIT. Someone that says Hell no, I won't be deterred, I won't lay down, I won't quit.

  1. OMG Chris that is so funny... and so you! I see some sort of extreme wheel chair sports in the near future :) Keep working hard as it appears to be paying off. Your positive attitude and faith in life is awesome. As always, you and Jen are in our prayers. Lots of love, Amy, Emily, and Brucie
