March 15th in Roman times was a festive day in which homage was paid to the roman god Mars. In modern times, it refers to the day the Julius Caesar was murdered in a mass political conspiracy. Not a good day for Caesar. However, I choose to liken my brother to the roman god Mars as Mars was idealized and revered for his courage and honor as a warrior and protector. I know no man that can wear the mantle of courage and honor like my brother Chris can. He is a warrior and he improves every single day.
In PT he was assisted into a high back wheel chair for about an hour today--tolerated well. Another step in his rehabilitation.
Still sipping sporadically on his protein drinks. His gastric options are expanding: he gets the choice between vanilla or chocolate. A nice improvement over the ice chip.
Having the NG tube out has done wonders for Chris. His throat is healing and the uncomfortable coughing and hacking has decreased.
Visited with his boys, remains in good spirits.
